Aromatherapy
One of the things I love best about living in my suburban neighborhood are the smells. Right now, the Korean spice bush in our backyard is blooming, and I've never smelled anything more wonderful in my life (except maybe a baby's head). I wish I could bottle the smell, or make perfume out of it, or something.
Last week, I got home from a particularly crappy day of running errands, etc., and I was unloading the groceries from the car when I smelled the bush. I dropped everything, went around to the backyard, and just stood there with my eyes closed for a few minutes. It's amazing how much better I felt.
Other suburban smells I love:
Onion grass Water on hot cement Grill smoke Newly mown grass Morning dew The smell of snow coming Burning leaves Fireplace smoke in winter Magnolia trees Crab apples smashed by car wheels Clover PineconesLabels: spring, suburbia
