I got chills, they're multiplyin'...

Okay, are you ready for "You're the One that I Want"? You know! That new reality show in which WE, THE VIEWING PUBLIC, get to pick the next Danny and Sandy for a Broadway revival of "GREASE"!!! No, I am not making this up!

This may be too big a responsibility for us. We must take it very seriously.

I've never seen a live production of "Grease," but the 1978 movie is one of my all-time favorites. I must have seen it seven hundred times, the first time when I was twelve. (Okay, I don't know what my mother was thinking with that one. Although most of it went over my head. In fact, I just recently found out what the deal was with the Saran Wrap in the "Greased Lightning" scene.)

But I love, love, love John Travolta. I can't help it. With the exception of Swordfish and Battlefield Earth, I've seen most of his movies numerous times, including The Experts, and Two of a Kind, and even Perfect. (Yes, Perfect.) I know he's into Scientology and believes in aliens and past lives, but hey, I've dated stranger men. One of them threw sardines and Al Stewart albums at the building across the alley from his apartment, and wrote hate mail to Wilford Brimley.

Jeff Conaway, who played Kenickie, was pretty hot, too. Unfortunately, he now looks like he drinks his breakfast and looks frighteningly like Keith Richards, but back in the day he looked good in those Levi's. And when he said to Rizzo, "I'll make an honest woman of ya," well, that's romance.

I even had a brief obsession with Doody. Hey, back off. I liked the hair.

But the best part is the songs. "Summer Nights," "Beauty School Dropout," and "There are Worse Things I Could Do." And my all-time favorite, "Summer Nights."

I can hear it now...

Bump. Ba dump. Ba dump. Ba dah dah dah dump. Bah dump...

Oh, yeah. I got chills, they're multiplyin'....
